Hey guys END of week 1 already in 1 day!
So here is my last post for the first week. Comment if you surf.
Enjoy
Laura Dekker
Laura Dekker is a 16 year old girl that completed a solo sailing around the world. She finished this task in 18 days. She compared her speeds each day against her parents previous trip. Her parents finished this task in 19 days. The boat Laura was sailing was named Guppy. She spent 2 - 3 days in each country then moved on sailing to a new place. When she finished staying in french Polynesia she sailed past New Zealand where she was born. She really wanted to stop but she couldn’t if she wanted to be the youngest person to sail around the world at 16 years of age.
She helps other young people to achieve their goals.

  1. Hi Amber,

Great work on completing another Summer Learning Journey activity - keep up the good work. Don’t forget to comment back to blog commenters as well as on others SLJ blog posts to gain extra points.

Laura Dekker is a very brave and inspirational person. Sailing around the world is a massive achievement! That is pretty cool that she was able to do her trip 1 day faster than her parents. What can you tell me that she does to help other young people achieve their goals? What is a goal you would like to achieve?

Until next time, happy blogging :)

  2. Hi Emma
When does the summer learning journey end? Please tell me ASAP.
My goal is to be a world famous pianist. Laura helps young people achive their goals by keeping on doing what she is doing and keep on going until you are finished.
    Bye AMber
