There I was just sitting looking out the window watching the rain fall down heavily on the roof.

But out of the corner of my eye I saw a cute baby pug drowsily walking along the sidewalk hoping that someone would come and help him and give him a home. So I decided that I would go help the pug. Then I put on my rain jacket and started to walk out to the poor little pug. As I approached the poor pug it slowly backed away. But luckily I got hold of it before it scrambled away. Then I quickly scurried away back to my house to get the pug warm and dry. The pug looked so adorable in it’s brand new banana pj’s. So we spent a lot time together and then I thought I would give it a home, so I adopted the pug and looked up some names for him because I new it was a boy. So I decided to call him Charlie I thought it was a cute name for the pug. After I thought of a name I decided to go to the pet shop and buy some dog stuff for Charlie. We went to the shop and brought a cute doggy bed and some food and toys.

I am ten years old and recently earlier in the year you have arranged a competition for children of all ages to compete in. The competition was a card making competition, I sent you my card and you sent a letter and a photo back. Anyway sorry to waste your time but I would like to complain about an issue that I don’t like. It's all the rubbish in New Zealand. Each year lots of people litter by throwing their rubbish on the ground instead of putting it in the bin. I think that we need to make serious charges to these horrible people that have been ruining our beautiful country! Or we could put more bins around our cities. If you have time please share this letter with the world, so we can keep our country beautiful.

Laura Dekker

Laura Dekker is a 16 year old girl that completed a solo sailing around the world. She finished this task in 18 days. She compared her speeds each day against her parents previous trip. Her parents finished this task in 19 days. The boat Laura was sailing was named Guppy. She spent 2 - 3 days in each country then moved on sailing to a new place. When she finished staying in french Polynesia she sailed past New Zealand where she was born. She really wanted to stop but she couldn’t if she wanted to be the youngest person to sail around the world at 16 years of age.

She helps other young people to achieve their goals.

Yursa and her older sister fled the syrain war and set off on an
adventure to find safety in Europe. In summer 2015,
Yursa and her sister travelled through Lebanon to Turkey
then leaving for Greece in a small dinghy crowded with lots of
people. After 15 minutes in the sea crossing, the boat’s engine stopped. As a professional swimmer, Yusra was determined not to let any of her passengers drown. Yusra, her sister and two others people jumped into the wavy ocean and swam for three and a half hours in the water to stop their dinghy going down, they saved 20 people from drowning.

SLJ Week 1 Day 1 Bonus Activity!

Hey here is my last activity for the day.
I had to chose a charity to write about, I chose the SPCA.
Here is my work

SPCA CHARITY
The spca charity gets donations from people all around the world and that money goes to help and look after the animals in need of food and water. The SPCA looks after and rescues animals all over the country. For Example if a kitten is stuck in a gap the SPCA rescue would find a way to save it and, they will bring it back to the SPCA place and take care of it will the things they have brought from the money they get from the donations. That is why they have a charity.
